“Wherever you go, there you are.” — Jon Kabat-Zinn

I find myself returning to nature when I need space to think, reset, or simply slow down. Trees, water, wildlife, and open spaces can appear simple from a distance. Spend enough time there, though, and you begin to notice how much is happening beneath the surface—and how interconnected everything really is.

I tend to see people and relationships the same way.

What we experience today doesn't exist in isolation. Our histories, relationships, losses, successes, trauma, ways of coping, and experiences of connection all contribute to how we understand ourselves and respond to the world around us.

That doesn't mean the past has to determine what happens next.

Why Momentum?

I chose the name Momentum Therapy & Counseling because I believe therapy should help create movement.

People often come to therapy because something feels stuck. You may understand what isn't working and still find yourself repeating the same behavior. You may know your past is affecting you without knowing how to move beyond it. Or you and your partner may care deeply about each other while continuing to fall into the same painful patterns.

My role isn't to tell you where you should end up. It's to help you understand where you are, what brought you here, and what may be getting in the way of moving forward.

Sometimes progress means healing.

Sometimes it means changing a pattern.

Sometimes it means strengthening a relationship.

Sometimes it means making a difficult decision.

And sometimes the first sign of progress is simply understanding yourself differently.

How I Work

My approach is direct, collaborative, supportive, and trauma-informed. I don't believe therapy should be something that happens to you. We work together to understand the experiences and patterns affecting your life and identify practical ways to create change.

I work with both individuals and couples, and my work often focuses on the intersection between our individual experiences and our relationships with others.

Areas of Focus

My primary areas of focus include:

  • Trauma & PTSD, including complex and generational trauma
  • Relationships & Couples, including recurring conflict, disconnection, affairs/betrayal, and relationship patterns
  • Anxiety, stress & burnout
  • Emotional regulation and long-standing behavioral or relational patterns
  • Religious & spiritual trauma
  • Life transitions, identity & personal growth

Other areas of my work may include parenting concerns, lifestyle and wellness, athletic performance, and substance misuse when they intersect with a client's broader therapeutic goals.

Regardless of your past, you can move forward.
